There is no ono (bing, wo believe, that would so materially add to tho prosp< rity of tins section of the coun ty inst ?ii ibis time as a concerted movement in the direction of debt paying. There have boen made bun dredi of ?mil's splendid illustrations of the great things that a debt-cm celting dollar will do, and it la use Its, for us to give the examples boro, foi every man who s?^ps for a mo ment lo think can readily realize what a wonderful effect the payment of a lot of small debts must mean in tin* way of advance men: of local financial conditions. It would mean the cancelling of hundreds of small and worrisome obligations, the putting of many dol lars into circulation, each one o? laein possibly serving to relieve dozens of people ol debts that would otherwise re m.lin unpaid. Lei us try out this theory of giv ing the "debt-paying dollar" a chance to do its full duty. If you have a dol lar and owo a dollar, u*je that dollar to camel your debt, giving the other fellow a chance to pay it out again. I/et your dollars get started to doing their work. Hut where to lM?g?ii? Why, bless your soul, there's no better place ti:an to favor the fellow who makes the suggestion. .lust look at the label on your paper, and if you owe us a dollar, bring it around and square up. We can promise you that not one dol lar will be "hoarded" longer than is necessary to scrape together enough of them to cancel bills that need pay ing badly. "Start the .ball rolling" our way and we'll keep it moving. "IF WE ESCAPE." We wish once again to call the at tention of our friends i; various parts of the county to the fact that we do not publish letters that have no sig natures to them. There is seldom a week passes thal we do not receive one or more letters - often containing Interesting matters that we would like to publish -but with no name to indicate the authorship. "Blue j Eyes." "liol Foot Bill," "Honey Boy" I or a dozen other equally interesting noni de plumes migbt serve to let the Writer Know that we had received and published his or her communication, but they give us absolutely no indi cation as to the authorship. The fate of all such letters, therefore, is a prompt consignment to tho waste basket. And the most of these epistles in form us thal "if we escape the vaste basket we will write again." But the> do not escape. All such com munications are "predestined," "fore ordained" and quickly consigned to Ihe waste basket, and when that is full .adi little missive adds to the ashe.- made by a basket Of useless paper. Sind ii s i lie news from your sec tion: we are always glad to get it, but let us have your name along with your letter. We do not wish your name for publication, but we must have it for our own protection if what you write is to appear- in The Courier.
