The Willing Workers entertained at Mrs. VV. P. Reid's on Wednesday afternoon al a miscellaneous shower. Christmas decorations of red and green, with many hells, doubly sug gestive of tho occasion and tho ap proaching holidays, were used. In tho midst bf the festivities old Santa arrived carrying an Immense pack Oil his back, which was opened and contents displayed, to the delight of the guests. The bride-elect opened each small package and found many beautiful gifts. A dainty sweet lum boon was served. Ott Tuesday afternoon Miss May Hamilton was the hostess to a large gathering of friends, the affair ho ing a handkerchief shower given to Miss Kirkpatrick. The parlor and dining room adjoining wore used, the light of day being shut, uni and the soft rays of many candles substi tuted with charming effect. The color motif of pink and while was used, the fair young bride-to-be wearing a dainty pink silk frock. Upon the arrival of tho guests each was given a heart-shaped card, upon which they were requested to write a wish and a prophecy for the bride. These were collected later and com piled into a book, which was pre sented to the bride. Tho dining room was then thrown open and a delicious three-Course luncheon was served. After luncheon tho guests returned to the parlor, where they found a real Christmas tree, bur dened with many exquisite handker chiefs, which the bride was privi leged to take from the tree. After a few moments of social chat the company dispersed. An exceptionally artistic affair, marking the third of a series of charming parties givr'i in honor of the coming bride, Miss Kirkpatrick, was the linen shower giVen by Miss Carrie Hunter last Saturday after noon. A large number of guests were invited, and there was a de lightful Informality about the af fair which characterizes Miss Hun ter's hospitality. Small tables were found about tho room for games, hearts and anagrams being played. Holiday decorations were used in thc parlor and dining room. After the game, the company was invited Into the dining room, where a beau tiful luncheon was served. Two tables were used, at which the guests were seated. As a center piece for each table a bowl was placed containing souvenirs of tho occasion, each hoing tied with crim son ribbons leading to the pintos. These were drawn and Hie wish or prophecy accompanying each was read. The luncheon followed, Which was served in courses, the introduc tory course being delicious creamed oysters, served in timbales, which were truly most palatable with mer cury hovering near zero outside. Upon the return of the guests to tho parlor a huge old stocking was found hanging from tho mantel, which Santa had deposited there, brimful] of beautiful linen pieces for tho young bride. Thcso woro eag erly opened and after a few mo ments of conversation tho bright company bade adieu to their hostess with many expressions of apprecia tion for this another charming af fair. Westminster, Dec. 13.-Special: Last Thursday evening thc Deilharz lOntortalners gavo a delightful pro gram of impersonations and music to a crowd which taxed the capacity of the school auditorium. Mr. Deil harz ls an impersonator of remark able ability, with a most pleasing and fascinating way that gains the sympathy of the audience at once. In the Impersonations of the Irish man and (.orman Mr. Deilharz ls un excelled. Mrs. Deilharz has an ex ceedingly rich contralto voice and she rendered splendid assistance In the program, lier lullaby song and the crying baby made a complete capture and ls still a matter of com ment where the entertainment is dis cussed. McAlister-Keil Wedding. One of the prettiest weddings cf lin; season was that of Miss Mary Agnes McAlistor to Harmon Leroy Kell at the home of the bride's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. 1). F. MoAHster, last Wednesday evening, December 7tb. Promptly at 8.?10 o'clock to the sweet strains or Mendelssohn's wedding march, beautifully rendered by Miss Paris Dillard, the wedding party entered the parlor, which was beautifully decorated in ferns and evergreens and lighted with candles. Firs! came the bridesmaids, Misses Sophia Keil and Minnie McAlistor. who took their positions. Next came the bride and groom, who took their places beneath the arch, which was arranged of ferns and Ivy, with a tiny white bell suspended from over head and was encircled by tiny white candles. The ceremony was perform ed by Rev. Williams. The bride was becomingly gowned in white silk, trimmed with satin ribbons, and car ried an armful of white geraniums and maiden hair fern, tied willi white ribbon. The bridesmaids wore dainty frocks of white with Valencennes trimmings. Aller thc ceremony a sumptuous wedding sup per was served. The many hand some presents showed the high es teem of this popular couple. There were about sixty present. All of those and many others wish them a long and happy lifo. A reception was tendered them at the home of the groom Thursday. School Prizes Offered. Last Wednesday morning the Rich land schof.l mot with quite an agree able surprise. The pupils were told on the opening day of school Hint several prizes and medals would be offered later, "but the half had not been told." Lu last Monday morn ing J. P. Striblii.g, promoter for our school, began, under the oversight of the trustees, and made a canvas of most of the patrons, and laid the matter of prizes and medals before them as an incentive to arouse now interest among tito pupils. lOvery patron asked, contributed a prize, and on Wednesday morning Mr. St.ribling, together with the trustees and several patrons, was present at the opening of school, and he, after a few words of encouragement and explanation, announced the following prizes and medals to ho offered in our school for the present term: Most improvement in penmanship, principal's room, $2, by W.
