Yongue, former pastor of the Walhalla and Seneca Methodist churches, will be deeply grieved io learn that he ls seriously 111 at his home in Pickens. He and his daughter. Miss Carrie, returned week before last from a delightful 1 visit to Miss Salina Yongue in Wash ington. I). C., and a few days later Rev. Mr. Yongue suffered an attack of an old stomach trouble, followed by paralysis. Ills condition at last re I port was said to be very grave, If in deed not critical. Sunday and Monday brought a change for I lie worse, and during that period ho was uncon scious. N., retired, for many years one of the best 1 known ligures in the American navy, died at Iiis home here to-night, at the age of 7 1 years. The admiral had been sick for the past two months, i After thirty-two years of active ser vice', Admiral Hichborn, who at the time was chief constructor of the I navy, was retired in 1901, with the I rank of rear admiral. One of his most important services was the pre paration of tile American ships for j thc Spanish-American war. Ile en tered the navy in 1869 as an assist ant naval constructor, six years later being made a lull constructor, ann in 1893 chief constructor. Among his numerous lesser inventions are tin? Hichborn balanced turrets and Hu; Franklin life buoy. He was also the author of several important works on naval construction. .fr.
