Greenville, Dec. 14.-T?l?phonie dispatches from Taylor's station say that the Chick Springs Hotel caught fife about 10 o'cloek this evening and was burned to the ground. At 1 o'clock this morning the ruins were still blazing, but the fire had spent its force. The origin of the fire ls not known. There was no one In the building when the fire started, th? hotel being closed. Chlch Springs Is a winter as well as a summer resort, but the .betel had not yet opened for the winter season. The old building, occupied by the manager, J. A. Bull, which was in close proximity to the burned struc ture, was threatened, but did not catch fire. Tho cottages belonging to the hotel were also undamaged. Tho hotel was valued at $30,000 to $4 0,000, and with the addition of tho value of the furniture would bring the total loss to about $50, 000.
