She was bitten by a mad dog a year ago. The gash waa long and deep, extending from the throat aoross the breast and down tho arm. The jugular veins were severed and Ferguson died in about 80 minutes. Maloy made bis esoape. Two years ago last May, Palmer Ferguson, a brother of Luther, was shot and instantly killed at thu colored folks' Methodist church at the close of a service. His slayer, James Harshaw, is still at large. The two kill ings occurred within 100 yards of each other. Mrs. G. T. Harmon, Jr., and little Miss Virginia Harmon, have returned from a four weeks'-visit to relatives at Green ville aud Williamstou. Mr. aud Mrs. T. C. Mrs. Elizabeth McCurdy, of Macs ville, Ga., is on a visit to ber niece, Mrs. J. H. Stoneoypher. The ice cream festival and the musical conoert, given by the Odd Fellows' cor net b?nd on July 4, was a great success. It was an ideal evening for an out-door entertainment, and about four hundred were present. This will long be remem bered as a happy occasion for the I. O. O. F., of Westminster. Prof. Will W. White, the baud leader, had prepared an excellent program of music, which was enchanting to the listeners. The mom bors of the band wore their new .. ni for ms, which are very pretty and fit elegantly. There was loud cheering wh n ..Dixie" and other familiar pieces w . - played. Speeches on Odd Fellowship v. i . deliv ered by D. I. Mulkey, C. R. D. . uns and J. E. Boggs in matchless orator and eloquence.
