The parlor was decorated in green and white, and, suspended over a window aloove, were five bells under which the life-important ceremony was performed. " The order in which the bridal party entered the parlor was aa follows: To the strains of the wedding maroh, five little girls and boys, Misses Fanestber Meakin and Elizabeth and Roxie Reid and Masters William Bell and John Strother, entered and took up bows of ribbon, trailing from the bells and held them as if in the aot of ringing. Then the minister, Rev. E. S. .Iones, entered and took his place at tho rear of the bell cirole, faoing tho assembled guests. Fol lowing came the maid of honor, Miss Ethel Colcook, Of Harts ville, S.C., dressed in a linen snit and carrying a bouquet of ?ellow daisies. Sloppy, of Fort Valley, Ga., accom panied by Miss Fannie Strother, of John sons, S. C. Immediately after the ceremony, a1 wedding bi eakfaat was served, and the brido and groom, accompanied as far as Seneca by a number of their friends, left for a briof visit to Blowing Rock, N. C. They will return to Wost Union for a short wbilo bofore going to their home in Atlanta. Tho presents received wore most num erous and elegant, attesting tho great J popularity of the young couple. A visit to tho plant of Otto Kaufmann ^Kfit Monday rovealod to us a groat doal "HB^e of a now business for this section lilian wo had thought tbero was in it. Tho yards are sproad from one corner to another with building blocks, long rows still wot from tho moulds, others par tially dried and setting to a grauito hardness, still others piled hero, there and everywhcie, hard as adamant and ready to bo laid into tho walls of build ings. Mr. Kaufmann hogan but a short wbilo ago to make those concrote blocks, and now is turning them out at the rato of some 300 porfeot blocks por day. Each block of the smaller sizes represents the same building capacity as 24 bricks;! therefore when he has piled up his 300 concrete blocks ho has made as much building material as a brick yard would mfa vin out in a pile of 7,200 bricks. The By 'ito and expense of tho burning process ^Ts avoided, as the sun and rain aro all that is needed to turn tho blocks of cement and gravel into veritahle blocks of granito. There ai o 11 ii in crolls designs, from tho plaiu building blook to the I fancy ornamental pioces, comer pieces, fire-place pieces, woll-ourbing-all as ac curate as a dio. Mr. Kaufmann now has on his yard all tbe material for Mrs. Kali nc stock's HOW residence except a fow of special design for ornament, and be sides this onough for almost another j eight-room house. As soon as his contract wo? 1 givos sn iii ci en t break in tho rush of v irk Mr. Kaufmann proposos to branch out still further and turn out sewer pipes, oto. aud, in fact, ho says ho intends to make i evorv piece of material usod in building residences, water-ways, etc. It is an in teresting thing to watch tho work at this {?lani, and it is Mr. Kaufmann's delight o show and explain the proooss to visit ors. Wbilo not a really new building mate rial, the hollow concrete blocks are just now getting into the building world as the cheapest of substantial materials. They are the coming material, as tboy combine economy and durability, and in fire-proof qualities are far ahead of the old briok-and-mortar material. ? Wo aro glad to know Mr. Kaufmann is throwing his energy into this new lino of /business, and we hope the result will be gft h o ereotion of handsome buildings, not .fconly in Walhalla, but throughout the county. Prospective buildors will cer tainly do well to consider well the con orete blooks in making their calculations. A GUARANTEED CURE FOB PILES Cching. Blind, Bleeding, Protruding Piles.
