She was in usual health until last Friday, and it was Sat urday afternoon when her illness was first considered serious. The bridal party entered to the strains of the wedding mai oh in the following order: Miss Louise Murphy, sister of the groom, and Riobard Hoper; maid of honor, Min? Then came the bride and groom, who stood under sn aroh of mountain ivy and Easter lilies, and the solemn word* that made them husband and wife were spoken. The entire h< me was tastefully deoo lated with ferns and lilies, the effect being in marked keeping with and typi cal of the season and beautiful surround ings. i he bridesmaids wore simple white or gandies and carried lilies and ferns. The bride's dress was white Mik and lace, and she carried a beautiful*shower bou quet of white carnations and ferns. Her only ornament was a pearl necklace which had been worn by her grand mother. After the oeremony an elegant lunch was served, the outting of the bride's oako oausing muoh merriment. The ring was cut by Miss Louise Murphy, the money by Miss Rose Payne aud the thimble by Miss Garrison. After the lnnoh the bridal party left for Anderson, where they will be at borne to their friends at the residence of Mrs. Moss, on Me Dollin street. The bride is a young lady of many ex collent traits of oharaoter and as Miss Isbell was universally popular among her acquaintances. Mr. Murphy is the chief ot police of Anderea, ana is well and favorably known to many, of our people. Last night, just about 12 o'clock, the alarm of fire wa? ven and the house of ' Chas. B. Morton, juat off Main street : and to the rear of tho residence of H. C. | Busch, was discovered to be wrnppod in Hames. Mayor Jna. Thompson was the iii st to give the alarm, though Mr. Moi - ton had already discovered the fire and was working heroically to savo Iiis per sonal effects from the house. Tho kitchen aud roof were all ablaze when he 1 iii st discovered the tire, and it had made j such headway as to make it impossible to aave the house. Dividing fences were rapidly demolished, aud the fire pre vented from spreadiug by this means. The building burnt like tinder, and within half an hour was razed to the ground. It was a five-room cottage, and M . Morton carried $300 insurance on it The tiro was duo to a dofective tide in tho kitchen. Mrs. Morton was absent at tho time of the fire, haviug been for several days on a visit to relatives in the country. Rocky Branch Union.
