For tho Unit tin!? in thirteen years tho people of Oconoo comity are going to have an opportunity of voicing their sentiments on the dispensary question, which is practical ly the samo a? the li quor question. We had prohibition in OOOUOO hy a voto of the people for seve ral years prior to 1802, when the dispen saries wore saddled ou os hythe Legis* iaturo without giving thc people a voice .ii tho matter. Such action wa? violative of tho Democratic principle of local self government, but tho sentiment of the people, long hold iu ohoyanco, ha? at last found a channel for assorting itself; and as a fountain of wator long pout(up, .vt la?t breaks loose, and becomes a mi?hty torrout, sweepiug ovorything bo fore it, so the public sentimont, at last aroused to tho enormity of tho moral ohliquy of tho .State engagiug as a rum seller, has found away of assorting it self, and as a mighty avalanche it is fast gathering volume and momentum iu its -na- h from the mountains to the sea, and this great moral ('.') institution will Hoon bo dashed againat the rocks and 'ashed to pieces by tho billows of an outraged public conscience. The days of tho dispensary are num bered. It has been woighod in tho balances and found wanting. Its path .ias been ami is tho name old trail of tho ?serpent. It dobauches manhood in high md low place? alike. Tho curse of Uod irests upon it, and it must bo banished from our midst. HERE, THERE AND YONDER.
