Adams, both of Westminster. The happy oouple have the good wishes of many friends. Frank Dean, one of Hon. T. D. Long's tenants, was cutting crofB-ties in the woods last Thursday, when bis attention was directed to bis dog baying near by. Going to the dog Dean was both de lighted and surprised to see fifteen opoB ?rums in a burrow. Go*, aged .v> years. At tue timo of his death Mr. Cox was residing ahout a mile above town, near the Doublo Cabins. He leaves his wife, six sons and ouo daughter. His daughter is married and resides in Texas He is survived hy one brother, C. 1\ Cox and the following sisters, all of winni, reside in Oconee: Mesdames Mary San ders, Millie Crooks and Amanda Hem bree. Mr. Cox was 4or a number nf ' years the miller at Sitton's mill and latei moved to Westminster and beoame tho miller at the Southern Flour Mills. He had also served the town as marshal for more than a year. Ilia body was taken to Heturn church Sunday for interment. Mr. Coi bad lived here about eight year* and bad many friends, who will leam of his death with sorrow. He was a Mason and a member of the Baptist church and was buried with Masonic honors, after fiinenil services conducted by Rev. s A. McDaniel. Dr. J. H. Johns, of Atlanta, is in town for a few days. Mia. J, li Orr and children have re turned from a three weeks' visit in An derson county. Mrs J. C. Dearden, of Atlanta, is vis it nu: here and at Oakway. D. A. A cow belonging to a gentleman named Cox was killed by No. 72 west bound freight train on August ll. The train was runniug at a high rato of speed. A. M. Jones moved to Anderson one day last week to acoept the position of card room overseer in one of the mills in that city. Mr. Jones and family made many friends during their sojourn in Westminster, whose best wishes go with them. Mr. JoneB will work in the Bre gon Mill.
