Get oft the earth, say wo to Cm nell's President und Maryland'? (?ovoruor. Wo have never felt that public matri monial advice wa? of any great benefit, to nnybody. Tho average young man will marry when he can and tho nveiago young woman can nun ry when she will. It is a matter fur young people of good ordi nary sonso to settle for themselves. Advice in favor of or against marrying is worthless as it is nut heeded. Therefore wo do not advise. Never theless, lhere aro about -eighteen < r twenty marriageable young ladies mut ns many eligible young men in Walhalla whom w? Would like to soe married and Started Ollt in life. There are eighteen or twenty now homes badly needed right lluro in Walhalla. Now, who'll be first ? GET RID OF CATTLE TICK\ Dr. A. S. Shealy, Assistant State Vete rinarian, in company with an expert, from tho Agricultural Department of thu General Government, is making a canvass of Coonee and Picketts counties for the purpose of locating sections infested with cattle ticks or " Texas fever licks." It. is their desire to rid infested sections of them and thus ho enabled to place Oconeo on the north of the present cattle quarantine line, or in other words to stamp out tho cattle ticks from this sec tion, so as to take tho county ont. of quar antine. This should be very desirable on tho part of every citizen, and we suggest that cattle raisers especially co-operate with these gentleman and render every assistance possible, lt. will bo of great benefit to tills section of the country, for when our cattle ate out of quarantine there w ill be more mai kets open to tis. At present tho cattle of this section are shut out from Not (beru markets. . They can bo shipped only to such plac? s as are also in quarantine. On the fourth pago of Thc fourier this week wo publish in full a circular issued by the State Veterinarian, ami wo hope those who raise cattle will read and pre serve it. Especially should those whose pastures and cattle are tick-infos'ed make au effort to stamp them ont, and those who aro free from them should keep a vigilant watch and prevent this pest from gaining a hohl on them.
