This colored preacher is a nativo of Walhalla, and at ono time-10 years ago-was pastor of Trinity M. E. colored church at this place. C., graduating with distinction from that institution, and later on ho took a theo logical emu se in a colored college in At lanta, Ga. Mrs. Augusta Crenshaw, wife of New ton Crenshaw, died at their home in West Union, Thursday afternoon, Febru ary ll, 1904, at 4.80 o'clock, aged 54 years, 4 months and 16 days, having been born September 26, 1849. She was born at Strausburg, Kingdom of Danzig, Qermany, and carno to Amerloa with her parents at the age of 16, landing in New York. Her maiden name was Seiskey. At the age of fourteen years she was confirmed a member of the Lutheran ohuroh at Oarnves, Germany. In 1874 the deceased was happily mar ried to Newton CrenBhaw. To this union were born eight ohildren, five girls und three boys, all of whom are living, and were at her bedside at the time of her death, except J. D. Cren shaw, of Washington, D. C., who ar rived Friday afternoon. She is also sur vived by one brother, Augustus Seiskey, >f Blooton, Ala. After her marriage Mrs. Crenshaw united with the Walhalla Methodist .lmich and romained a consistent mom bur of the same up to tho time of her loath.
