The following is a correot statement of Cot ton raised by Slovens & Cureton, on 1J acres of stubblo land, which was manured with 400 pounds of Carolina Fertilizer. Tho following is tho modo of cultivation : it was thoroughly broken up 12 inches deep, and laid oft" in rows .'ii feet wide, and the Fertilizer applied in the drill, then bedded on it on the 15th of May. and planted tho 1st of June. First working it was run around with a half shovel and partial ly trimmed out with a boo. Second working it was run around with a 3 inch grub, 12 inches long, and tho middles thrown out with a sweep 18 inches wide. Ono furrow to a row and thinned to a stand with a hoe about 12 inches between tho stooks, and afterwards it was ploughed every two week? with a sweep 18 inches wido, and hoed each timo, until it was workod five timos. The following is a correot statement of the Cotton picked : 1st Picking, 254 2d Picking, 4?0 3d Picking, 413 Estimated amount of unopen ed matured bolls, 816 Total, 1,923 Respectfully submitted STEVENS & CURETON.
