This Convention shall be known by the name of tho Musical Convention of thc State of South Carolina, 2. The objects of this Convention shall be to promote tim science of Vocal Music, and thc interest of Christ's kingdom on earth. 8. lt shall meet annually for the transac tion of business. 4. The bill eera of this Convention shall consist of a President. Vice-Piestdent and Secretary, who shall bc ohosoti annually, bv tim members present, who shall continue in ollioc until their successors ure elected. 6. Any Teacher can become a permanent member of this Convention by paying fifty cents and ten cents antin illy. G. Any lady or gentleman catt become a permanent member by paying twenty-five cents and live cents annually. 7. Any in otu ber fulling to attend or send up their annuil fees, for two years together, their names shall be stricken from thc roll. 8. The money thus accumulated to bc placed in the bauds of thc Score ta ry to defray thc expenses of printing Minutes of thc Conven tion. 9. If a surplus of money be accumulated it shall be used in aiding disabled shoddier*, who bol?n;? tb this Convention, in procuring an ed ucation, either literary or musical. 10. A book shall bo procured, in which the names nnd address of all tho memhers shall be kcp'. 11. Each School shall bo on ti tied to three delegates, chosen by thc members of such School, who. upon presenting certificates of t heir appointment, shall bc entitled to a seat in tho Convention. And each Society having boen regularly organized three months previ ous to thc meeting of the Convention, shall be entitled to two delegates. All Teachers ol' Vocal Music, within thc State, shall be enti tled to a scat. 12. All Ministers of thc Gospel shall bc en titled to permanent membership. 12. All questions or queries presented to the Convention for discussion by Schools or Societies, shall bc set fotth in the face of thc letter. 14.
