IV. Tho organization ^of the companies , raised, under the proclamation of Gov. Perry, for tho police of tho State, into battalions and regiments in the respective brigades, will be suspended until further orders from this De partment j and, in thc meantime, the officers of such companies will carefully observe the orders issued by the Post Commandants of the United States forces in the respective Dis tricts, and only employ their organizations as an auxiliary police force Lo aid tho United States authorities in preserving order. V. Colonels commanding regiments will re port thc organization of their respective com mands, and their effective force to thc Briga dier-Generals commanding brigades, who will make a coftjolidated return of respective Brig ades, through their Major-Generals, to the office of the Adjutant and Inspector-General, (at present at Newberry Court House,) on or before the 15th day of March next.
