Blats and others, went to Saluda; the other com posed of Messrs. White, Johnstone and others, went to Broad River. Both parties returned Thursday. The party that went to Saluda caught about seven y-five pounds of fish; the party that ent to the Broad caught about one ed and fifty pounds. Nati e Genius. During the thunder storm Tuesday. 12th, Mr. Henry Baird, living three ri miles East of Prosperity, had a mule y: killed by lightning. The lightning C struck a log in the upper part of the stable, went clear through the log, struck the mule, killing him instantly, and then passed clear through one of e the sills. Mr. Baird was standing in E the door of his house. one hundred feet I distant, at the time, and his two cbil-S dren were standing just in rear of him. He was knocked down, and remained tr insensible for some time; the childrene also felt the shock, as also Mr. Baird's :sister, who was in the yard.
