What the speak ,rs lacked in abuse of the Democrats hey made up in wonderful statements bout the honesty of the Republican arty. It was said that the Republican yarty had saved the country one hundred illions of dollars and reduced the blic debt in proportion, all of which as received as gospel truth by the au ience. Other statements equally ab urd were made and we supposed fully elieved by the crowd. A wagon brought in some water melons last week, it was quickly sur rounde&by the citizens.and sold out .in a remarkably short time. If people from the country bring, in any kind of produce they will find a ready sale for it here, and as small change is very acceptable at this time of the year it is hoped that they will profit by theinvltation. Wb t everybody don't know about politics now aint worth knowing. Each one think they know it all. Cantaloupes abound in the gardens around town. Capt. W. H.
