'Way down South in Dixie I Yesterday afternoon, Mr. Pome roy left the city, to fill engage a en the stump in the interior, and has played us a nice trick. Finding a returned soldici on the -street, with an old hand organ, on whidh he pays ten dol lars a yar license, which goes to the support of the bondholders, he hired him'to come to the office of theDemocrat, and, from 1 o'clock till 4 every afternoon, play "Dixie !" fi And here he is, under our win do'w. We like it, but the editors dthe aare outraged! One of them says it is a d-d nuisance ! .Anothersays it isdamnable ! And there he sits and-grinds "Oh! Pickens, of South Carolina, says a correspondent of the Herald, n a conversation with General Ro tnranz, at White Sulphur Sprgs' aid that something more than the nstallation of the Democrats into >ower is required to save the coun ry.
