Look to Tour Plumbing.
You know what happens in a house
in which the plumbing is in poor condition?everybody
in the house is
liable to contract typhoid or some
other tever. The digestive organs
perform the same functions in the
human body as the plumbing does for
the house, and they should be kept in
first class condition all the time. If

Many Prisoners in Jail.
Sheriff Sim J Miller, accompanied
by Magistrate Julian A. Gayden, of
Brcoklaud, made Ave arrests in the
town of Cayce on Saturday night?all
negroes. Four were anested for being
drank and raising a "rough house'' in
general, while one, John Daniels, was
arrested for selling whiskey. Sheriff
Miller caught John with the "goods
on" a.'ter he had dispensed a pint
of the soul-stirring fluid, better known
?9 "fuss X." A gallon demijohn containing
one X whiskey, together with
a quart of the same kind, was taken
in by the officers, and John wa9
brought to jail to await trial at th9
June term of court.
There are seventeen prisoners confined
in the county jail at present,
charged with all kinds of crime from
murder down to petty tbiefery. There
re four charged with murder, one
white and three negroes. Among the
wriaoners in iail are two white men? I
John G. Week?, alias Harjy D, Beckman,
and Oscar Strickland, charged
with the robbery of the jewelry store
of Lewie Hall in this town severil
months ago. Weeks is a deserter from
^ the army, having left camp at Norfolk,
^ Ya., last, October. When captured he
gave his name as Beckman and his
hom-=t ?s Lansing, Michigan. It later
-developed that his father is a well
known farmer of near Willi9ton, Aiken
county, and his people are well-to-do.
An effort has been made, it is understood,
to secure the young man's release,
bat so far he has not been allowed
to go back to the army. Strickfenl,
who comes from Unibn, is said
to be a former inmate of the reformatory
at Florence.
Another whitfe prisoner is "Billie"- \
