Prince hs,8 granted a new trial in the ca9e of Wade H Spires against L. W. Gardner, which was heard at the last term of court and in which the jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiff. The oase involves the rightful ownership of a large and valuable tract of land in the lower part of the county on Cedar creek. Af:er a careful review of the case, says Judge Prince, the opinion is reached that the verdict of the jury was contrary to the preponderance of the evidence, and shocks the court's sense of justice. This means that the case will be called again. Two trials have already been held. The first resulted in a mistrial, the second in a verdict for the plaintiff. Mr. Joseph W.
