Death of Child. \

Coy, the 15 months old son of Mr.
and Mrs.sIsaiah Sheaiy, of Irene, died
on Monday, after an illness of three
weeks with cholera infantum. } The.
burial took place on yesterday/afternoon
at 4 o'clock.

The Lexington Rural Letter Carrier's
Association held its annnal meeting
on the 30th with sixteen members
present.
The following officers were re-elect
ed for another year: W. H. Hare,
president; L. B. Addy. vice-president;
H. D. Crosson, secretary; Killian Harman,
treasurer.
Following were elected delegates to
the state convention which meets in
the city of Florence on July 3,4 and 5:
Killian Harmon, H. D. Crospon and L.
B. Addy.
The meeting was harmonious and
many impromptu speeches were made.

John Hatto Killed.
On Thursday afternoon about 4
o'clock John Hutto, aged 23 years, son
of Mr. Brit Hutto, was instantly killed
. at the plaining mill of the i?anville
Lumber Co., near Pelion, while operating
a truck. The young man had
just begun work at the plant in the
morning, and was not familiar with

into the spur track, Hutto was thrown
for a distance of eight feet, his neck
and skull being broken by the fall.
Magistrate C. R. Rish held an inquest,
the jury returning a verdict in accordance
with the above facts.
{ The remains of Mr. Hutto were laid
to rest in the Good Hope church yard
on the following day in the presence
' of a large congregation of sorrowing
relatives and friends.
