Left Out By Blease;
Secures injunction
Florence, April 15.?J. S McKenzie,
who was left off the list of appointees
for the Florence county hoard of assessors
when the governor made the
appointments, has secured an injunction
from Judge Shipp restraining Mr.
Hill, the governor's appointee, who
was not recommended by the delegation,
from qualifying, so that the auditor
has notified Mr. McKenzie to
meet with the board at its next meeting,
which will soon be held, as a
"hold-oyer" member.

Sheriff Owings and Deputy Reid
held a little informal whiskey and
beer shower on the public square Monday
morning. Invitations to witness
the scene were given out in a general
way, by the odor of the fluid, and a
large crowd gathered to witness the
show. About twenty-five gallons cl"
whiskey and beer were showered in
the sewer. The guests acted as onlookers
only. No souvenirs were given,
