* . I The Lexington Dispatch Wednesday, Sept. 7,1910. G M. Hakmax, Editor and Publisher D. R. Haltiwangkb, Assistant Editor. Entered at the Post Office at Lexington, S. 0., as second class matter. CIBCTTLATION 2.327. Labor Day in Columbia, wa9 much * enjoyed by a large number of people. Barbecues were served in different parts of the city. The programme which had been prepared by the cwferent labor anions, was well carried out- Automobile races, sham battle - and a lot of amusements at Ridge Wood and the car rides made the dsy pass off pleasantly. Burglar Entered Home . , of E. H. Addy. Burglars entered the home of Mr. ?. H. Addy, a prominent farmer and merchant of the Cedar Groye section, on Sunda> night, and rifled Mr. Addy's pants pockets, which were hanging ^across a sewing machine near his bed. .Mr. Addy did not know of the robbery until Monday morning when he arose to dress. His pocket book had been robbed of all the money it contained. 8trange as it may seem, tbe burglar did not molest anything else in the room. The store keys were in the same pocket that the pocketbook was in bgt the robber did not take them. It is thought the perpetrator either entered the house before the family retired, or gained entrance through a window. There is no cine as to the robber's identity. Mnndnv l*U0k The largest crowd was in town Monday that has been here on any first Monday in several months. There were only three sale9?one under fore cloeure by Clerk of Court Shealy, and two under foreclosure by Sheriff Corley. The county board of registration was kept busy all day, More than 500 tickets were issued, which is evidence of the growing interest in general elections. The county board of commissioners were kept busy also, - transacting only routine business. Card From Mr. Caugltman. To the Democratic voters of Lexing- j ton County. TI take this method of thanking my friends all over the county for the handsome vote given me in the election on the 30th of August. If I am re-elected to the office of County Com- | missioner I shall endeavor at all times i to discharge the duties of the office with an eye single to the best interests i of all the people of Lexington county.
