Divorce Evil In Georgia Alarming Atlanta, Ga.?An appeal for stricter divorce laws in Georgia will be made by Judge W. D. Ellis, of the Fulton county superior court, before the general judiciary committee of the legislature. Judge Ellis considers the growth of j the divorce evil in Georgia, and particularly in that tertitory where he has jurisdiction, so alarming as to call for new laws. Both the judge and the jury bad just completed the July divorce calendar on which there were seventy undefended case9. Judge Ellis believes that th e es9ental weakness of the present law is that it permits verdicts in undefended cases on uncorroborated testimony, either tee husband or wife. He thinks if corroborating testimony were required, the evil would be greatly ameliorated and the number of divorces made less.
