If r Richland can get control of that road t and bond and tax you to pave it for 1 automobiles exclusively, then you i will have to buy an automobile or - drive to town by another route. : Now, in conclusion, people of the 1 | Fork, when we get all the good things, ? such as roads, bridges, schools, etc., 7 coming our wajr, bear this in mind: * we will pay for them whether in Lex3 ington or in Richland. Richland does 3 not have so much money that she can 1 sling it broadcast among us. The 1 fact t hat she wants us, proves that * she has use for us; and that use is not to benefit us, but to benefit herself. If the Fork, which constitutes at least i one-fourth of the wealth and voting 3 strength, has cause to complain i against Lexington county for lack of 5 recognition, forty square miles of 3 sparsely populated territory has a mighty poor equipment for defence 1 against the aggressions of a large and 3 prosperous city.
