Everybody seemed to be in the best cf heart and enjoyed it to the fullest. W. B. and Turner Fallaw, two of Batesburg's handsome and jolly good fellows, spent the holidays with r:latives and friends here. Mrs. Liliie Zeigler has gone home after spending some time with our genial friend, Doc Goodwin. Miss Liliie Fallaw spent the Christmas and holidays with the home folk. The new year brings us renewed ob I ligations and opportunities. n,et us be alert and equal to the duties that may come upon us. Mrs. C. H. Hartley, that queenly little Christian lady, treated the , poor carriers here 011 Christmas day to a big turkey dinner, which was highly appreciated and ^hugely enjoyed by the boys. Well, Mr. Editor, Billy had a big Christmas. The expected, turkey came; a large crate of oranges and grape fruit from Florida; boxes along the route, so many I can't mention them all. The happy Felix family joins me in returning thanks to D. B. Sphaler, Mrs. C. H. Hartley, Mrs. C. S. = Goodwin, Mrs. R. J. Faliau, Mrs. F. M. Sharpe, Miss Ludie Fallaw, Mrs. M. H. Fallaw, and last but not least, Mrs. D. H. Craft, that noble little housewife, all who so generously con[J4 tributed to the comforts of the carrier and family, who were filled and made glad by these tokens of love ai.d generosity. Auditor Dent and Editor Harman were here recently, both looking well and feeling jolly. Father Time seems to be dealing gently with the Editor, and may he live long and continue to give us a good paper. j Alfred Sharpe, one of Lexington's J best citizens, died on the 30th of last L month.
