He wrote the Calhoun members a few days ago that he hoped to be able to hold the meeting for the division in August. The negroes of Columbus, Ga., are very much excited over the burying alive of a negro named Jackson, who had been thrown into a trance by a hypnotist who guaranteed he would sleep a week.
