Magistrate G. A. Derrick on Saturday morning heard the case of D. P. Seay vs. Samuel Shealy, in which Seay is trying to eject Shealy from ! his premises. Messrs. A. D. Martin and T. C. Sturkie represented Seay, ! while Col. Geo. Bell Timmerman ap* peared for Shealy. Col. Timmerman raised a jurisdic- j lion question and was sustained in his position by Magistrate Derrick who j dismissed the case. Referee Court. The case of S. B. George, as administrator of the estate of A. A. Younginervs. HeDry Steele and D. W. Wessinger, foreclosure of mortgage, was heard before Referee F. E. Dreher on Friday. T. C. Sturkie, Esq., represented the plaintiff, and Hon. W. H. Sharpe and Col. Geo. Bell Timmerman the defendants. \ 7. C. I. Taaehers Reelected. i At a meeting of the board of trustees yesterday afternoon all of the teachers were unanimously reelected for another year. This announcement will indeed be gratifying to the many friends and patrons of the Insiitute, who realize that a finer corps of teachers could not be found in the State. >The school is entirely out of debt and many equipments "will be added during the summer. Mr. John Derrick, of Selwood, who was in town yesterday, is the happiest man we have seen in these parts recently. The Stork has been a recent ^ visitor to his home and left a bouncing boy. John has been smiling ever since and his neighbors say he is going crazy; but we are of the opinion * that he is just losing his mind?for * the time being.
