Coffin Containing 520-Pound Woman l Put Through Window. The funeral of Lueinda Miller, believed to be the largest woman in the state of New York, her weight being 520 pounds, was held a few days since from her home on North Clinton street, Poughkeepsie, N. Y. On account of the size of the casket, it was necessary for six porters to move it through a large front window. Mrs. Miller's twin sister died several years ago. She weighed 530 pounds. Several offers were made by circus men to Mrs. Miller to go on the road as a freak, some as high as $500 a week. She refused all of them. She disliked notoriety on account of her two daughters. Being so large, it was impossible for Mrs. Miller to sleep in bed. The * fat had grown around her heart to such an extent that when she attempted to lie down the circulation of the blood was affected seriously. So for many years she had sat up, leaning over, with her head in her hands, and thu3 had slept. How's This? A dispatch from Washington says: Democrats generally, and particularly from the South, are sorely disappointed that Sen. B. B. Tillman's illness will enforce his absence from the Denver convention. Everywhere such expression is being made. He was to have been the central and leading figure, anyway the leader from South, and there is now a question as to just who will take his place. It would appear that Senator Bailey, of Texas; but there is considerable doubt as to whether Texas will let the great orator represent that state or not. There will be other very prominent men from the South, but all eyes were being centered on Tillman and Bailey as the party leaders from that section. Texans unfriendly to Bailey are reviving the scandal of two years ago which nearly cost him his political life, when his alleged connection with the Waters-Pierce Oil company became known. If he wins, and is sent to Denver, he will be Tillman's logical successor in leadership. Plentv of Trouble ? is caused by stagnation of the liver and bowels.
