We are glad to know that Miss Cora
vWlnttle, the highly cohered iady,

able to resume her work, after several
clays' illness.
? On Suudar, February 2, the home
of Mr.,and Mrs. W. H. Suber was visited
by a bright, chubby, little son,
who has not yet been named. Mr.
Suber is all smiles.
Carrol and Bayard, two bright and
energetic sons of Mr. B. F. Swettenburg,
are visiting Mrs. Stuck, their
grand-mother, and other relatives in
Peck.
* The many frie'nds of Mrs., McBushardt,
who has been sick foi\ several
days, are glad to learn that Mie is improving
and wish for her a speedy
recovery.
Spring will soar, be here. It seems
that I can almost hear the chirrup of
the birds and smell the sweet fra
grance of the flowers.
The merchants have already purchasedttheir
spring goods, and hope
to have them in and ready for sale in

Otfituary.
Mjrs. Alice Roof Corley passed away
at tfie home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. E. J. Roof, of Sandy Run, on
the morning of January 30, 1908, at
the age of 34 years. She was a woman
of deep spirituality, and lovely
Christian character. Her sun went
down while yet'twas day; but the
falling night had but a better morning.
Mark the perfect woman and
behold the upright, for the end of
that one is peace. We shall only
look on such a one beyond the vale of
tears.
She leaves the following relatives
to mourn her, loss: A husband and
daughter, father and mother. She
was buried at Sandy Run Lutheran
church by her pastor, Rev. R. E. Livingstop.
