The subscription price of the Dispatch is$l a year; 60 cents for six months; 25 1 cents for three months?invariably cash j in advance. CIRCULATION 2.357. ?????????? Wednesday, November 13,1907. The discussion of the immigration question now going on between Hon. A. 0 Latimer and Copt. W. E. Gonzales, editor of The State, makes real1 interesting reading matter these days. It is said that some people ontside of Columbia are afraid to accept the Sew certificates issued by the banks of Columbia. The only regret we have is that more of them don't come It is said that the county dispensary hoard of Orangeburg Is going to reestablish the dispensary at Eloree against the wffi of the majority of citizens of that town It is high time for the legJ^Utnre to pass such a law as to prevent the sale of liquor- in communities when its sale is not desired. There is anew religious sect up in Greenville known as the "Unknown Tongue," which causes the ignorant to speak any language from Chinese to Russian,or, in other words, i any language known to man. The | /if nthm* am orpAat. I I ly wrought up and claim that much | h&im is being done by these meetings. | Citizens of Sandy Run, now i? the time for yon to do your thinking. Don't wait until you have voted youifc self into a high tax county. It will be too late then. Lexington is in better shape, clear of debt, to give you whatever improvements are necessary than to join the idols of those who will certainly treat yon no ( better, and perhaps not as good. Taker no chances, but remain where y?n are. ' At last the people in the proposed territory of the new county of Calhoun will get a chance to say at the ballot box, whether they prefer stay-. ing in old Lexington, tbe county of their fathers and the pride of their mothers, or whether they prefer going into a new county that will certainly haye^ ;to be built up at the expense of the common class, those living in the rural 'dlstricts who have to make their'Id-eafr by the "sweat of the brow." To be sure, those living at the county seat will have nothing to lose, even it they do contribute \ liberally toward building a new court houae aad jaiL Our position in this matter is too well known to the readers of The Dispatch to be repeated again. We have no apologies to make to no man or set of men for the position we have taken. We propose to stand by Lexington in the future as ; we have always done in the past? v working for the best interest of all the people as we see it, and in doing so we feel that we have the support and co-operation of the majority of he citizens all over the county. On i jp?7 election day we are satisfied that the i ? j - _ r T i j ;>f gooa citizens ui reaming i in the territory proposed to be cutoff, will think the matter over well and cast their votes as their conscience dictates and we will be satisfied with the result. This week we are on our regular semi-ahnual trip with the County Treasurer. We have been making these trips oVer the county for many years, and to say that it affords us x pleasure to mingle^ with the good people of old Lexington is expressing it mildly. Our first stop this week will be at Edmund. From there we goon through to Gaston, Swansea and Sandy Run, ending the first week of Mnn/)a ?! . RmntlftnH nn Sftfnrdav. E3gg?S v. vw ? ? ^ , and earnestly request our subscribers to meet us promptly on our trips and f i either settle in person or send their dues buy neighbors; Next week our first stop will be at jfe Pelion, the beautiful and growing little town on the Perry extension of j|v V the Southern railway, and from there ifc we go to the Cross Roads, Steadman's and Samaria, arriving at the thriving town of Batesburg, on Wed?|| nesday evening. Thence down the road to the live j town of Leesville Friday, and end: . ing the second week at Gilbert on H Saturday. The third week ojf our trip oyer the Afttintv will be spent. in the Dntch Fork, where peace and plenty always jg? reigns supreme above everything else. We ask at the outset-, and again appeal to those in arrears, to meet ns promptly with their dues, for it is absolutely necessary for as to have money in order to make a good, readable paper?such as we have always tried to make The Dispatch. So, 7 meet us promptly fsnd get your re? ceipfc. p;' I u m ' m - - Most people knov been sick they need sion to bring back 1 Y But the strongest po ? Emulsion is that yo X sick to get results from ?
