Columbia, Oct. 15.^T7alter Allen ei and Jim Sudduth, both life term con victs.from Greenville county,succeed- C1 ed in escaping from $he State penitentiary here early this morning, and 113 as yet neither has been heard of. They were trusties. Allen was convicted of killing Hfnry Trammel. He was tried at S( the September term of the general sessions in Greenville in 1901 and sent up for life. Sudduth was tried for the murder of a man named Hays, whose B mutilated body was found in the yi mountains. Sudduth was convicted 113 ? , on circumstantial evidence and sent j) up for life. ?
