EIDLINGER'S STEAM BAKERY, COLUMBIA, S. C. The Lexington Dispatch. Wednesday, October 2,1907. From Klondike. ?T<? 4-Un "CM af TKo "nlorvo V? ! JL U tli^/ JUUi kVi V/1 jLiiu J_x | Let me say, through The Dispatch, to the Baptists of Lexington, that only a few days remain before the association meets at New Brookland. Our "State Board" has planned its j work on a basis of ?30,000 this year, j The committee has asked the Lexing- j ten Association to raise ?400 of this | amount. Less than ?50 has so far j been paid in. The amount asked for ; is less than ?20 to each church in the association. Brother pastors, bring this matter before your churches and let's do something we never have done before ?raise our proportion for State missions. Let's do our best at the Unions and then bring the balance to the association. Mr. Editor, you and the many readers of The Dispatch come up to Gilbert and see some corn after the "Williamson Plan." Rev. Inabinet has three-quarters of an acre that will make you dream of fat porkers and sleek horses. Lewie Hallman has five acres on the "Plan" and it is a sight to see for "Sand Hill" corn. Prof. Lindler has some also that is very fine. Farmers, now is the time to study the plan for another year's crop. I want to 3ay to the farmers of the county that this plan, so far as 5 my observation goes, is a great success. If you will plant five acres on 5 this plan next spring, you will be 1 able to gtve more for State missions in the fall. So mote it he. Gilbert, Sept. 21. KLONDIKE. The Southern Cotton Growers' Association and the Farmers' Union, at meetings held recently, fixed the minimum price of cotton seed at $20 a ten which they regarded as a fair price under present conditions, and members of these organizations were urged j to hold their seed until oil mills should pay the price. The demand for seed is so great, however, that the mills j have gradually advanced the price until the carrent price of seed on the local market is $22 a ton. This price should be satisfying to the farmers who desire to sell their seed, if they believe that $20 is a fair price, and the mills should have no difficulty in obtaining all the seed needed to keep the mills running.?The Watchman and Southron.
