Harman, Charlie Roof, Willie Roof and Ollie Smith on y Friday morning of last week sure enjoyed the first fox chase of the season ** up on Twelve Mile creek. They ^ caught a red male fox with about twothirds of his tail, also the right ear, cut off. The fox seemed to be about four years old. He was caught after * a four hours chase at the head of Mr. W. Solicitor George Bell Timmerman was resting at home and Batesburg the latter part of last week, preparatory to going over to Camden where oourt of general sessions opened last Monday. Fainted On the Street. Mr. Davis A. Kyzer, who resides ; west of town, dropped on the street this morning in a faint from loss of blood, in consequence of a cut on his : wrist sustained several days ago | while on his way seeking surgical aid, j which was promptly rendered, and at this writing is improved and will be carried to his home as soon as considered safe to risk1 the trip. Mr. Kyzer thought his wound improving satisfactorily until early this morning, when secondary hemorrhage returned with what may have been a serious termination. ;'r. An Enjoyable Day. The barbecue at Mr. John Sox's last Saturday is said to have been quite a nice affair and everybody enjoyed the day. Mr. T. C. Sturkie acted as master of ceremonies and made quite an interesting little speech. Afterwards he introduced A. D. Mar tin, Esq., who fairly maae tne leaves quiver with his convincing arguments, candidates H. L. Oswald and J. M. Craps were also in attendance shaking hands with the good people of that section. Mr. C. S. Bradford and family, who moved from here to Portsmouth, Va., will move back soon and occupy the Doctor Hendrix residence, opposite Drafts Hotel. Mr. Bradford is a jovial, clever man and good citizen, and his friends,will be delighted to have him and his family permanently with us again.
