Nothing But Democracy. ' Whereas, it is evident that there is uncertainty as to the sentiment of the Democrats of this State on the *2 J: question 01 uispeueary or proamnion, and it being desirable to ascertain i the wishes of the people on that question, therefore, "Resolved, first, That the State Democratic executive committee be, and it is hereby, directed to have a separate ballot box placed at each j polling preciDct in each county of j this State, so that each qualified ; voter voting in the general primary j election may vote on the question of ; dispensary or prohibition. "Resolved, second, That the State ! i Democratic executive committee be, j and it is hereby, directed to have ! 100,000 ballots with the words "For j the Dispensary" end 100,000 ballots ! with the words "For Prohibition" I printed thereon and have the said ! ha'lntH nrnnprlv pn that. i tbe various clubs holding the general j primary election in each county may j have a sufficient cumber of ballots j for all qualified voters to express j tbeir preference. "Resolved, third, That the State Democratic executive committe be, and it is hereby, directed to bav? ail ballots so cast Id said election counted, tabulated and the result declared for each county separately." The above resolutions on tbe apparent paramount issue to be die- j cussed in the campaign were offered j by Mr. Outzs, of Greeowood, in tbe j State convention, but were rejected. The readers of the Dispatch will ! remember these resolutions are in i . . accordance with our idea, not as a ! ! matter of law, but sentiment cf the I people, which is certainly Democracy, ; and should be the guidance cf our j ( legislators ou this important ques- j tion instead of criticising candidates j on the stump, which, as we have j stated, perhaps, may Dot give us the : beet representatives in the legislature. But it does not seem to suit the wishes cf those in power to so submit the question, and we will await the results cf the program.
