There ie said to be a scheme on foot among the Japanese to make extensive experiments in cotton raising in China. The plan is to secure a number of experts from this country who shall give instructions as to the *? * - i ? J i.i i?; preparing 01 me lauu, tue uuiuvbtion of the staple, etc. This is cot the first time that other countries have experimented in the growing of cotton. But little success has rewarded the former efforts in other countries, and we are very doubtful as to the success of the experiment in China. There has been a decided advance during the last day or two. What is the reason for it?
