These parties have captured about forty foxes and eight wild cats this season. Treasurer F. W. Shealy has bad bis hands full for the last few days. The beautiful weather yesterday has given us large crowds, who take advantage of the trip to settle with the Treasurer, whose energy, system and thorough knowledge of his work make if possible for bim to handle the holiday work at bis office. The merchants of Lexington report a large trade, and our streets have been crowded by happy citizens from every section of the county. We are glad to note these evidences of good cheer. When the farmers are prosperous everybody must feel it, for they are the sub strata, the foundation sills of our well being. Congressman Frank Lever is spending the holidays at home. He leaves for White flock tomorrow to be present at the marriage of E U Sbealv, E?q., to Miss Maggie RichardscD, and Mr. Q. 5c. WiDgsrd to Miss Mary RicbardsoD. which takes place on Thursday.
