The grim reaper of death has gathered into the great store house of eternity the lovely form of little Lorraine, the only surviving child of four of Mr. Scott Hendrix, a prominent business man of this place, which occurred early last Thursday morning. Little Lorraine was a charming and interesting little Miss of seven years of age and by her gentleness of manners, sweet disposition and an intellect bright far beyond ber years, she held a warm place in the affections of her companions and school mates. It is said that death loves a shining mark and we are often led to refect upon the inscruitable ways of providence in taking away from eaita's scene the most beantiful flowers in the garden of mortality and wonder why these things are permitted, but then we 1-a. iL a L ^ J m/wlvA in ft m r> o _ are CaUgUb MlUli uuu wuui iu a jjjj aterious way to perform his wonders. Mr. Hendrix bas been sorely afflicted. Four bright and beautiful children, together with a loving and devoted wife?all that is pure and holy in this life?await his coming to that golden ehore beyond the valley and shadow of death. Her little remains were interred in St. Stephen cemetery Thursday after- i noon. ^ I During her last illness she received the kind attention of loving and gentle hands and all that love could suggest and money procure was done to prolong her life, but to no avail. She was attended in her last illness by Dr. Holbeck, of Columbia. Wire Fencing. When in need of wire fencing, yard, cemetery, poultry and field, call on or write R. L RouDtree, Lexington, S. C.
