Lexington County Teachers' Association held its regular meeting October 28, 1905, in the Institute building. A good number of teachers were present, and subjects well discussed. 1. Association was called to order by president Prof. T. W. Dreher. 2 Devotional exercises?a o u g, "Maryland.'' ?Miss" Elizabeth Dominick presiding at organ. 3 Miss L zzie Sfcay showed very prettily by her paper how every successful character of any profession tries to fit himself with proper equipments. That it is the teacher's duty to be alive to the needs of his or her school. Also it is the teacher's duty to arouse the sympathy of patrons cn fchis subject: "And let none become weary in well doing." Mr. J. F. Kyzer, the other speaker on the subject of "Better School Equipments," insisted that there be well equipped teachers. * 4 Miss Carrie Corley read a paper on "Making School Grounds Attractive." She showed in a deliberate and brief manner the importance of attractive school grounds, as the child's first impressions are most lasting, the picture for memory should be as pretty as possible. 5. Prof. J. R. T. Major fully arid ablv discussed "The Teachers Read?* mg Circle.1' He gave us a mbst appropiiite simile on the unending restlessness of nature. The Teacher's Reading Circle is aptly fitted for the teacher's intellectual and spiritual -developments. Austin, Mgr. of the "Republican," of Leavenworth, Ind., was not unreasonable when he refused to allow the doctors to operate on his wife for female trouble, "instead, "he says, "we concluded to try Electric Bitters.
