Cotton picking has been ^progressing rapidly in this section, and the gins have been overrun. Many plants are running day and night, and yet they cannot kee up with the cotton. Some times one has to wait all day to get a bale ginned, and often you are lucky to do this well. To illustrate bow an advertisement in the Dispatch pays we mentioo one instance of many. Last Wednesday an advertisement was inserted in these, columns calling for a lost bicycle wheel. Thursday the wheel (not a cart weel. by the way,) came xolliDg in the office. A railroad from Saluda Court House to Greenwood may be considered a certainty. It now behooves us as enterprising and progressive citizens to build a trolly line from Saluda Court House' to Columbia. What say the people of Saluda, Lexington and Columbia? What we would like to know how many shares the people of each ,of the three places named will take.
