Americafcs^Eilled Toy Mexicans El Paso, Texas, June 7 ?b.erbert Miller, a survivor of the American exposition which was ambushed and several of whom \,ere brutally murdered several months ago, supposedly by Ydqui Indians, is going to Mexico City to prove to President Diaz that- it was not Indians but Mexican soldiers who attacked the party. Miller made a statement immediately after the party was ambushed that he thought Mexican soldiers perpetrated the crime against the Americans. Later be sent out to gather evidence to that effect and bad succeeded in getting very nearly all be wanted when his purpose was found out and he was forced by the Mexicans to flee for his life. Miller says he can now show conclusively that Mexicau soldiers not only planned the ambuscade, but actually executed it and that the Yaqui Indians were not responsible for it. He claims to be able to show that the two officers who are responsible for the assassinationof the American party were formerly bandits themselves and enlisted in the Mexican army, after turning traitors < . *t ' * % ? totneir own band, m order to protect themselves. At Charleston the ''social club," chartered blind tigers, continue to be raided by the constables and much excitement prevails among the proprietors and members, especially at this season of the year, when cold beer is considered to be so very necessary, and with the accompaniments of comfortable quarters, electric fans, etc. The raid of one club recently netted 24 gallons of high grade whiskey and nearly 1,000 bottles of export beer. The renewed activity of the constables is said to be due to special instructions from Columbia to get after the violators of the law. Enquist Sots and Broods. Admiral Train has stated that he will not require the removal and temporary tender to the United States authorities of the breach blocks from the guns of the Russian ships. Admiral Train, on his visit to the cruiser Jemtchug, accepted the ex cases of the commander of that boat for using a begrimmed board for a table, the captain saying he had borrowed it from the sailors because the officers' wardroom was littered with coal. The wounded Russians are making rapid progress toward recovery. S. soldiers who served in Cuba during the Spanish war know what this disease is, and that ordinary remedies liave little more effect than so much water.
