Mrs. Sarah Lowman, widow of the late Solomon Lowman, died at her home near Monetta last Monday morning. He is operatr ing in the Gilbert section. Mr. Geo. R. Sease near Gilbert, has marketed about sixty or seventyfive bushels of fine peaches. He received a fair price for them. Think of it, these peaches were gathered from a small area of sand land and will net for Mr. Sease more than one hundred dollars. Mr. R B. Kooo, who has been away at Hickory college arrived home a few days ago, but off now trying to make a dollar to help him in completing the course of that worthy institution. Mr. J E;bert Timmerman, a successful farmer and prominent citizen of Aiken county, spent Sunday with his father, Dr. W. H Timmerman. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bawl spent Sunday with the former's parents at Lexington. Mr. Sam P. Roof, son of Mr. W. P Roof, of Lexington, was here on business one day last week. Sam is a deservedly popular young man and has manv nersonal friends in this V & town. Miss Lottie L. Kidgell, who has been teaching music in the Orangeburg college during the past session, has returned for the vacation. Mr. James C. Fort, a ieading citizen of the Pelion section, was here on business last Friday. Mrs. Dr. Theo. A. Qaattlebaum is visiting relatives at Winnsboro this week.
