TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY
?3?* Miss Russell, of Baltimore, in C
The latest styles and newest material shown in New
York and Baltimore are reproduced at prices fully a third
less than prevailing city prices. The assortments to keep
abreast the times and the great progress of our town necessarily
surpass any previously shown. From a small stock
six years ago in a small and sleepy town we have grown,
one with the other, into a Mammoth Department Store in a
Hustling and Bustling little Electric City that is being
talked and written about over the entire State.
Our policy of money back, if you want it, safe-guards
you here and after all, is the best sort of a guarantee. A
guarantee that has won for us the estimable part we play
in the great prosperity of this town that has made this
store the integral of the shopping interest of the entire
community.
This is a Store of [deals

SHOES
|
This is the most complete Shoe Store between Columbia
and Augusta and ever}7 pair at Department Store prices.
We handle the best from a dozen Factories and every pair
we sell is a walking advertisement for us.
Clothing, Pants, Shirts and Hats. |
In those Departments we are showing about three i
times as much as usual. We handle strictly high grade
i
goods only, and will stake our reputation on every SUIT
we sell. We never sacrifice quality for price, never take
chance with cheapness, we slice the price instead of the
value.
A man is often judged by the clothes he wears. We
are willing to be judged by ours and if you buy here you
need fear no criticisms of yours. This is the Fountainhead
of Fashion for the entire community.

Dear Bimburg.
Miss Emmie Etheredge of Johnston,
is employed by the Hendrix firm.
Miss Etheredge comes to Leesville
with mmy friends already won.
On last Satprday night a negro by
the name of John Cannon was killed
near this place. From testimony
brought out it is thought he was a
member of a gambling party. He
v,<is buried at the expense of the
county.
President Haynes has made a
continuous campaign throughout the
State in interest of the school here.
Never before have prospects been
brighter. Last aessioa an additional
hail was added for the accommodation
of students. Very likely a similar
addition will have to be made the
incoming session.
Sunday afternoon at the Methodist
parsonage, Mr. A C. Bouknight
and Mis* Lillie Griffith were married
by K v Justus. Both of these
popular young people have been
connected with the Matthews &
Bouknight Co. Mr. Bouknight is
destined to be one of Leesville'a
most popular business men. Mrs.
Bouknigbt is originally from Reevesville.
/
The Democratic primary election
being over, Leesville as a unit, can
say she is well pleased with the results.
True, everybody didn't get
bis man, but the greatest source of
gratification to Leesville is to know
that her two worthy citizeos, Dr. E.
J. E.heredge and Mr. Isaiah Hailmau
are esteemed so highly as to
receive the popular vote of the
cjauty. When we look at the vote
these gentlemen received, where best
known, i; is no wonder that they were
supported as they were, and because
of their worthiness all of Leesville
feel grateful to Lexington county
for sucQ general support.
Probably the mo*t remarkable
race in the history of Lexington
county is that of Dr. Etberedge.
With worthv and formidable opponent
Mr. Etheredge received from
the voters of Lexington county the
largest vote of any opposed candidate
ever making the race for any
office. Again, we sav it ie no wonder,
when on of th* approximately
four hundred v.,ie* p lied at B-ifcesburg
and Leesville t.e received about
three hundred and eighty, only losing
seven out of the one hundred and
ninety-fix at Leesville. About seven
