The infant daughter of Mr. Scott * Hendrix sweetly fell asleep in the arms of Jesus last Wednesday. The tender bad only bloomed a short (while on this earth when the Master ' took it to himself to dwell in that * city of many mansions, to which ^ place its mother had preceded it 1 only a short while ago. The mother ( and babe are now re-united. We 1 sympathize deeply with Mr. Hen- 1 drix in his sad sffi-'ctions. ' ^ Tbe atmosphere of Leesville is educational. Her people are refioed and cultured. They take intelligent i interest in the young people who i come to attend sobool. They are ' heartily welcomed to their homes, t their churehes and Sabbath schools and strong safe guards are thrown around them. ' While at Samaria we were pleasantly entertained for the night at ' a the home of our eld frierd Mr. Ja9. jr F. Hallman. He baa fine crops and f is one of the most substantial citizens ] of that community, t A free bridge means better roadsconseqaently a spying in dollars and cents J i in the wear and tear of vehicles and L in the loss of time and annoyance, * | ^ besides an increase in the taxable < j values of Lexington county. Col D. T. Barre, a warm friend of tbe Dispatch, dropped in Monday and paid the subscription for a neigh bor. The Colonel is a gallant vet- i eran, a useful citizen, and an excellent neighbor. 1 Mr. M. T. Ward from Trenton, is , visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jas J. Lesphart, on Beaver Dam. Mr. Leap- < b?rL one of our Droeressive farmers I and Mr. Ward made us a pleasant J call this morning. I It was our pleasure to spend Friday night beneath the hospitable roof , of our old friend, Mr. John McCartha,. on Black creek, and we were doubly pleased to know that he was prospering and that his healtk is good. The music department of Lses- . F ville College is not surpassed. Prof. Brockman pleases pupils and patrons ] wonderfully. He knows music ar.d can make bis pupils know it. Beet opportunity ever offered in Lexing- ] y ton county to learn music. Mrs. Mollie Gooding, of Charlotte, ( and Mrs. Lucy Crewe, of Spartanburg, who have been visitiDg their r mother, Mrs. Eva C.
