C, April G, 190-1 To the Dimccrats of LexiDgton Co.: I Id accordance with the order of | the State Executive Committee, I hereby call the Democratic clubs cf Lexington county to assemble on Saturday, April 23rd, for the purpose of re organizing and electing delegates to the county convention to be held on May 2, 1904, in accordance with article 2'of the constitution of the Democratic oartv of South Caro lina. The county conventions when so assembled will elect delegates to the State convention, and each county will be entitled to double its representation in the legislature in that convention and to elect a county chairman and a member of the State Democratic Executive Committee. Respectfully, H. A. Spann, Chairman Executive Committee. The State Ddmocratic Executive Committee has instructed the county chairman to issue a call for a meeting of the respective townships and ward clubs to be held on the fourth Saturday in April. When convened, these club9 shall each have a distinct title, ''The Democratic club'' and shall elect a president, one or more vice-presidents, a recording and corresponding secretary, and shall have the following working committees of not less than three members each; a committee on registration, an executive committee and such other committees as may be deemed expedient. Each club shall elect a member of the county executive committe, under the coetrol of which the clubs shall be held together and operate. The county executive committee shall elect its own officers, except the chairman, who shall be elected by the convention. These officers need not necessarily be members of the committee. The clubs shall elect delegates to the county convention?one delegate for each twenty-five members and one delegate for a majority fraction thereof. Mr. Jeff Price, of Hollow Creek, now wears the ribbon as the champion rock throwor of the county, he having won his well earned honors in a contest with a large chicken hawk last Wednesday morning, which measured 4 feet from tip to tip. The grain has come out a great deal since the warm weather has set in. Easter services were celebrated at the Sandy llun Lutheran church. Rev. Archie Wolfe has been very sick, but glad to say at this writing that he is improving. We hope he will soon be well again. Miss Blanche Rucfeer has been visiting her sister., Mrs. King, of Bowmans, and hag; returned home much delighted with her visit. Mr. James Nelson and children, of Columbia, are visiting Mr. T. Kaigler, formerly of this place, but now in Alabama, made a flying visit to the home folks and brought his bride with him. We all were glad to welcome him and his bride back home aod wish them a pleasant journey through life. Prof. J. Burton, of Pine Grove school, was called home on a sad mission by telegram announcing the death of his sister. Our deepest sympathies go with him on his sad mission. Mr. B. H. Kaigler has accepted a position at Alcoln, S. C., and we hope he will be successful in all his work. Miss Sallie Moore, of Columbia, has been visiting Mr. J. W. Knight and family. Mr. W. T. Kaigler spent some time with the home folks, but have returned to his work again. Sbealy, who has been working on a dairy farm in North Carolina, visited his parents, Mr. aud Mrs. J. Eiwin Sbealy, recently. A child of Henry Barr, colored, was burned to death last week.
