It pays 5 per cent, interest on dei posits semi annually and loans can be negotiated on reasonable terms. Lexington Savings Bank. Brockland Hippies. To the Editor of the Dispatch: You and the many readers of the dear old Dispatch may be a little ! surprised to hear from a new scribbler in the busy little town of New Brookland. I thought I would write a few items while my brother correspondent was sleeping and dreaming i with bis eyes wide open. Guess he is thinking of those big trips he has been taking out bird hunting and has forgotten the Dispatch eDtifeiy. The health of our town iB very good at present, although we have some sickness. AmoDg the sick is Mrs. J. M Gunter, who has been very ill, but we are glad to say she is imnrovic0\ ? r - - d Mr. P. J. Wessioger is improving after a couple weeks of severe illness, be is under the skillful treatment of Dr. F. L Sandel. We trust be will soon be able to attend to his place of business, for he has been greatly missed by his many friends. He is a clever fellow, always jovial and full of fun. Mr. R L. Shuler has cleared up the land around, the Horse Shoe Lake, and many beautiful and desirable lots are for sale. Ail who are able should purchase a lot and plac6 a handsome dwelling thereon, thus build up the town of Brooklaud more. Our town has no fire protection at all and is one thing that ought not be neglected. I tbiok if some of the go-a-head citizens like Mr. M. H. Witt, Mr. A. D. Sbull or many 1 others here, would just say "get up," j the horse would travel and we would I soon be well protected. If the pond | was just kept up, we could get the | ' fire eogines from our "CaDital citv." ? * * " | at aDy time?even if we would have to pay I hem, would it not be better than to have our property destroyed? Mr. F. E. Brown, one of our good citizens, is conticed to his room, but | we learn he is improving. Hope to j see him out soon. Mr. J. E. Buyer, one of our best [ citizens, is all smiles now?he has I a new lady boarder at his house. With many good wishes for the Dispatch, I am, "Robin Red." February 15,1U(U ? ?
