A.. Shealy, County Supervisor. French Squadron Under Orders. London, Sept. 11.?The powers are evidently still exerting pressure both at Constantinople and Sofia to avert a Turco-Bu[garian war apparently witb some temporary success; but meantime an increasingly terrible tale of atrocities committed in Macedonia shows that the situation is daily becoming aggravated. The news that a French squadron is goiDg to the Levant is also con| sidered ominous and this step by the French government will probably be followed by similar action on the part of the other powers. I The turkish embassy in London in ifcs denial, issued daily, of Turkish atrocities, today declares it to be "absolutely false that Ottoman troops are burning villagos, the truth being that it is the Bulgarians, who at the approach of the troops use explosives to burn the villages before them and then accuse the Turkish troops of such abominable deeds." The same communication maintains that there were only eight persons killed and 15 wounded in t?e affray at Beirut- and that many fugitives to the Lebanon are returning to their homes. According to special' dispatches from Constantinople, the Mussulmans have sacked Christian houses and caused disorders at Beirut and sensational rumors of all kinds are current, including a general massacre at Beirut and the imminent dynamiting of public buildings and the poisoning of the water supply at Constontinople. From Vienna comes again unconfirmed reports that Boris Sarafoff, the Macedonian leader, has been I murdered near Monastir. Beautiful "Women. Plump cheeks, flushed with the soft glow of health and a pure complexion, make all women beautiful. Take a small dose of Herbiue after each meal; it will prevent constipation and help digest what you have eaten. 50c. Mrs. Wm. M. Stroud, Midlothian, Texas, writes, May 31, 1901: "We have used Herbine in our family for eight years, and found it the best medicine we ever used fdr constipation, bilious fever and malaria." London, September 17 ?With refence to representations made in Washington by the British charge d'affairs, regarding the seizure of two or three islands off the northern coast of British Borneo by a United States gunboat, eiicted this statement: "The case seems quite simple. Americans seized the islands which they claim were Spanish, bnt we believe them to be British. 'Protest' is a very strong word to use in connection with our comments on the subject." Doctors Could Sot Help Her. ' I had kidney trouble for years," writes Mrs. Raymond Conner, of Shelton, Wash., "and the doctors could not help me. I tried Foley's Kidney Cure, and the very first dose gave me relief and I am now cured. I cannot say-too mucL for Foley's Kidney Cure." The Kaufmann Drug Co. ? ? Obituary. Died at a very tender age Barto Crout and his brother, Gomare, sons of W. T. Crout and wife. The former died February 28, 1901, and the latter August 24, 1903. These little children were buried in Red Bank cemetery. Burial services were rendered for both at the latter. They are safe in the arms of Jesus, whom we preach. A. R. T. - ? . . a wgi'&sy aaitrs 5 iws&imonial. M. T. Lynch, Editor of the Philipsburg, N. J., Daily Post, writes: "I have used many kinds of medicines for coughs and colds in my family but never anything so good as Foley's Honey and Tar. I cannot say too much in praise of it." FOLEYSKIDNEYCDRE Makes Kidneys and Bladder Right Every heart that has beat strong and cheerfully has left a hopeful impulse behind it in the world, and bettered the tradition of mankind. The catastrophe of every play is caused always by the folly or fault of a maD; the redemption, if there be any is by the wisdom and virtue of a woman, and failing that there is none. Examine yourself whether you had rather be rich or happy; and if rich, be assured that this is neither a good, nor altogether in your own power; but if happy, that this is both a good, and in your ? wn power; since the one is a ter yorary loan of Fortune, and the other depends on will.
