Wednesday, May 13, 1903. A General Mixture. There are great promising young men who never reach the pacing sUge. Erea if a man doesn't look like a fool he can easily deceive strangers bj acting like one. From pretext to practice is such a long distance that most men never . cover it. After marriage the thermometer of love registers a constantly falling temperature. Foley's Honey and Tar contains no opiates and can safely be given to children. The Kaufmann Drug Co. Don't think because a woman is fair that she isn't capable of being unfair at times. There are few things that can be more shockingly immodest than modesty when it is off its guard. Anybody who hadn't been through the performance would suppose that the bridegroom was glad. Foley's Honey and Tar is peculiarly i adapted for asthma, bronchitis and hoarseness. The Kaufmann Drug Co. * A woman wants her love measured oat to her jast the way a man wants his salary paid him, regularly and in fall. Under some conditions a man can make mere noise in the world by I keeping his mouth shut than in any other way. Adam had one bit qf luck; he ooaldn't have any other men held up i to him as the kind Eve might have married if she wanted them. Yon never heard of any one using Foley's Honey and Tar and not ; being satisfied. The Kaufmann Drug Co _ _ ^ ^ John Budd Taj lor, aged 2U, was hanged in Kansas City, Mo., recently for the tnarder of Rath Nollard, his sweetheart. He killed her because she j l:ed him. A model of Solomon's temple to cost $100,000 will be one of the features of the St. Louis f-jir. It will be made from models, paintings and designs based on the thorough study by Jewish archaeologists. When you want a pleasant physic try Chamberlain's Stomach and Liv er Tablets. They are easy to take and pleasant in effect. For sale by The Kaufmann Drug Company. A squall caught a party of tourists on a lake in Scotland and threatened to capsize their boat. When it seemed that the crisis had really come, the largest and strongest man in the party, in a state of intense ; fear, said, "Let us pray." "No, no, my man!" shouted the bluff old boatman. "Let the little man pray. Twentyfive doses for 25 cents. Harman's Bazaar. Very Remarkable. What does it all meat? In the ceremonies at St. Louis, last week, Mr. Grover Cleveland was easily the central figure. His visit was a continual ovatioD. A banquet was given to the many Washington correspondents in the city. Mr. Cleveland was present, and the banquet took the form of a demonstration in his honor. When he arose from his seat to acknowledge the compliments, the QflA nnaofa onrnncf in their feet, wav wv ? c * ing napkins and shouting. He spoke brilliantly, and when he concluded, the audience started the refrain. "Four Years More of Grover." Every day newspapers and individuals are prophesying that he will be the Democratic nominee for President next year; his praises are sounded from one end of the laDd to the other; criticism of him has ceased, except in Nebraska, and be who, six yearB ago, was the best hated man in the country, is in danger of becoming again the moat popular. What does it all meaL? - - Take 4 j ast a mite" of Ramon's Tonic Regulator nightly, and you will be pleased with the effect. That tired, exhausted feeling will disap| pear, there will be no cause for headaches, pains in the back or side. When the organs are in a healthy state one has no cause for complaint, and that is just the state a systematic use of Ramon's Tonic Regulator will produce. 25 cents. Barman's Bazaar. Current Comment. The Florence Times says: "The pre89 ia beginning to regard the recent decision of the United States court in the Alabama case as a virtual repeal of the 15th amendment of the constitution. We can hardly be satisfied with so indirect a stab at that institution. We want to see it, and its parent, the 14th amendment both off the books. We believe that the time will come when the North will take the lead over the South for this demand." During the last week Kev. M. W. Senator Latimer's Plan To Secure Good Roads---National and State Governments to Help. Special to the State. Anderson, May 5 ?Senator A. C. Latimer passed through the city last night on his way home from St. Louis, where he had been attending the convention of the National Good Loads association. He was one of the principal speakers at the convention. Mr. Latimer said that he expected to visit every section of the State this summer where an interest is being manifested in good roads and make speeches on the subject. He considers good roads one of tin most important matters that can concern the people of the State and he i9 anxious to see them become more interested. Mr. Latimer's plan is to have the federal government bear one-half the expense, the State one-fourth and the county or township one-fourth. For instance, by his plan if Anderson county should vote $24,000 worth of bonds for making good roads she would get an additional $75,000 worth of work done. He says that he expects to introduce and push legislation along this line at the next session of Congress. The X-Eays. Recent experiment?, by practical tests and examination with the aid of the X-Rays, establish it as a fact that Catarrh of the Stomach is not a disease of itself, but that it results from repeated attacks of indigestion. "How can I cure my indigestion?'' Kodol Dyspepsia Cure is curing thousands. It will cure you of indigestion and-dyspepsia, and prevent or cure Catarrh of the Stomach. Kodol digests what you eat?makes the stomach sweet. The Kaufmann Drug Co. The Bright Side. Cheer people up by your piety. Do not talk as if the world was growing from bad to worse, as if God and goodness could not make headway against sin, and as if one's chief religious duty was to complain. People know better than that, and if you only would repel them, and resent the bright side and bless the gospel of Christ. Study up the influence of Christianity. You will learn that it has actually transformed the world. There is sin enough, and too much, left. There is every promise for a desperate struggle for supremacy between the reform and regular Democratic organization. A Sure Thing. It is said that nothing is sure except death and taxes, but that is not altogether true. Dr. Kiag's New Dis covery for consumption is a sure cure for all lung and throat troubles. Thousands can testify to that. Mrs. C. B. Van Metre of Shepherdtown, W. Va, says: "I had a severe case of Bronchitis and for a year tried everything I heard of, but got no relief. One bottle of Dr. King's New Discovery then cured me absolutely." It's infallible for Croup, Whooping Cough Grip, Pneumonia and Consumption TVt, if Tt'a nrnarftnfoPfl hv ^ho blUU* A * J ill J*. I The Rock Hill Herald gives a de- j scription o* the most remarkable bey in North Carolina as to size, weight and strength. The home oi tms boy is in Curatuck county, N. C, and the following measurements will give some idea as to the size of this youthful giant: Three-fourths of a yard of cloth is required to make the neck-band of a shirt for him and four widths of cloth for his' pants. The waistband of his pants measures 70 inches. It takes 6? yards of yard wide goods to make his shirt, and his shoes measure 13 inches in length. He is now in his nineteenth year, is six feet three ioches high and when last weighed, about two years ago, he pulled the scales at 669 pounds, and has continued to grow and gain in flesh since that timfl. Ha alidvs verv eood health W-? i~ <j ~ ' / O and seems to be about as bright and intelligent as the average boy. He has a quick temper, is easily angered and does not know his strength. On one occasion he is said to have hauled in a stranded boat to the shore that 6even men had failed to move, and all his chairs and bedsteads are made to order and must be of the best material. Mr. Joseph Pominville, of Stillwater, Minn , after having spent over $2,000 with the best doctors for stomach trouble, without relief, was advised by his druggist, Mr. Alex Richard, to try a box of Chamberlain's Stomach and Liver Tablets. He did so, and is a well man today.
