To the Editor of the Dispatch: If you will excuse a second visit m two weeks I will say that the exhi bition given at the close of our school was a success and rt fleeted much credit on both Prof. Derrick and his pnpila. Rev Henry gave a very interest ing and delightful talk on education, which was listened to with best attention. Mr. Frank Hall took the - part of the missing link between the man and the monkey and aped the profession well. Ail the f&rmerB ia the countv ought to have heard this lucid aod learned talk on bow to raise beans and other garden truck?including the man who discovered the onion Birdie Addy, as foreman o? a jury, was the whole court and cleaned up Klondike on a marriage ceremony. Little Lorane Donnally received 8 beautiful Oxford Bible as a present for punctuality. Time and space would fail us to mention each pupil by name, but suffice it to say all did well. Among those present we noticed Prof. Hood and "Joe Allen" from Summit. Prof. Hood, while teaching one of the best schools in the county, wants it understood that teaching with him is only a side line. He in forms us that he is in the chicken : business and has batched off something less than 600 as fine bid j ias as ever cried peep to a wooden hen. We have had three or four cool nights and days, but the fruit is not damaged to any great extent. Mr. W. D. .Croat has begun to transplant his tobacco and at night bo Bays: "0' my back and dreams of long green worms and moss covered buttei flies. Mr. Sam Croat who will plant, ten acres, has already ordered him a robber back and a cow hide to maks him a pocket book. At night his peaceful slumbers are disturbed by visions of great wads of the long green and barrels of the yellow; while Klondike's mouth waters for the time to come when the melon is ripe and the musk melon yellow. I am glad that P: H. C. swore by the "Great Horn Spoon" eternal allegiance to truth in reference to fishing. Now we can with clear conscience invite the Editor out to take a fish with us. Klondike. Satisfied with long life and obedient to her heavenly father's call, the subject of this sketch went forth to dwell in one of the many mansions of light far beyoDd the stars to join that glorious company ef saints and angels that greeted her with eongs cf welcome around the radiant throne of God. Nancy Wingard Ccrley was born October, 1805, and fell a9leep in Jesus March 28, 1903. She was united in marriage to" Samuel C rl*y Jane, 1823 Death sundered ?b?R **cred and tender tie March 4 b, 18G2 See was blessed with a large and devoted family? being the mother of ten children? j eight of whom survive her. There were nineleen grandchildren?twelve living. There were twenty three great grand children?nineteen living. Mrs. Corley was one of the most revered and oldest citizens of Lexington and was connected with some of the oldest and most prominent families of the county.. In her character were blended some of the rarest Christian virtues ?oftntlenefis. meekness, hooefulness, kindliness, patience and faith. So beautifully aad faithfully did she exemp'ify the life of her blessed Saviour that she was a grand inspiration to all who visited her in her home and conversed with her about the things of God. A most exemplary member of St. Stephen's E L. church of Lexington, S C, for m*ny years?faithful to her vows, deeply interested in all the concerns of the Kingdom of Christ, she will be greatly missed not only by her devoted family but by the entire Christian community. Her funeral service was conducted at the familv residence by her pastor, R*v J G Graichen, assisted by Revs A R Taylor and W. D. Quick, ia the presence of a large and sorrowful congregation. The pastor based his discourse on the 16th verse of the 91 Psalm. She was interred in the family cemetery by reverent hands and loving hearts. J G. G. ? IT eilson-V ander b ilt. Reggie Gets His Cathleen Mavourneen and Cathleen Gets Her Millions. Newport, R. I, April 14 ?At noon today Reginald Claypool Yanderbilt and Miss Cathleen Neilson were married under a bower cf American beauty rose3 in Arleigh cottage, Rev Father W. B. Meenan, of St. Mary's church, officiated at the ceremony. About one hundred and fifty guests, including relatives and friends of both parties, were present. Directly after the ceremony the bridal party drove to Sandy Point farm, where they will spend their honeymoon. The recpption and breakfast at Arleigh followed immediately after the ceremony. An altar was specially built to accommodate Father MeenaD, who is more than six feet tall Frederic Gebhard, uncle of the bride, gave her away. In the floral decorations nearly fifteen thousand great white lillies were used in the main hall, while Mr. and Mrs. Yanderbilt received in a room the walls of which were entirely covered with daisies. Thousands of American Beauty rose9 were used throughout the other rooms, and in the embellishment of the breakfast tables, those for the guests were laden with American Beauties, while the table of the bride had only lillies of the valley. Miss Neilson carried a bouquet of rare white orchids and clusters of orange blosBoms. Shower bouquets of white Persian lillies were carried by the bridesmaids. Palms, bay trees and floweriDg plants hid the grounds and to a large extent hid the lower floor from the curious crowds. The wedding presents represent the outlay of a fortune. Dreadful Attack of Whooping Cough.
