Ktnard the beloved pastor of Eberntzer Lutheran church in Colombia, has resigned and accepted a call from the Lutheran congregation in Knoxville, Tenn. The resignation of Dr. Kinard has not yet been accepted, but it is presumed that it will be and a call to that pulpit will be extended to Rev. Mr. Segers. Dr. Kinard has been with the Ebernezer charge as assistant and pastor for the past 16 years. Bwiprocity Tmty. The treaty was received by the Senate in executive session sod was referred to the committee on foreign relations without being read. Graicben, the eloquent : pastor of St. Stephen Evangaiic*l Lutheran church in this place, delivered a timely and thoughtful discourse last Sunday morning en the theme of "gift giving." His remarks were based on the latter clause of the 11th verse of the II chapter of the Gospel according to St. Matthew. He told of the various wajs of bestowing gifts and the proper spirit in which they should be made in orflar in meat, thfl favor of Gcd and win the approval of our conscience?. It was a masterly effort and clothed in beaut ful words and furnished an abundance of wholesome food for earnest reflection both for the Christian and the worldly minded. A Good Market. Messrs. J. N. Wessinger, of the Wessinger settlement in the Fork and W. S Amick, of Broad river, were in town Friday selling cotton and both remembered the Dispatch in a substantial manner. They were well pleased with Lexington as a market both for selling cotton and buying goods. The One Place to Go.
