Tne Lexington Dispatch Wednesday, November 19,1902. Klondike's Letter. To tbe Editor of the Dispatch: Chief Rolling Bear has been holding forth in Lewiedale now for three nights, and by the way the small bov laughs, he must be a success. Our school is growing, progressing and prospering under tbe able management of Prof. Derrick. Mr. Maxie Crout, of the Pond Branch section, entered Monday. The Wateree school opened up Monday with Prof. H. V. Rish as principal. Miss Mary Ida Hart is teaching the Liberty Hill school and Miss Ethel Koon the Boiling Springs school. The Pond Branch academy has not opened up yet. Mr. George and Bolton Clark have bought the new mill tract of land and will turpentine the timber. The people are coming our way and soon the bells of progress will be jingling all over these sand hills We wish all friends a home and all foes a grave. A few weeks ago somebody with a mind and appetite for chickens made a raid on Uncle George Wood's fowl house and car &xed off three or four hue hens and I don't think they were black either, Rev. C. B. Avery has been elected ' to a large school in North Carolina, aud has left for that place. We wish for him nothing but success. Mr. *^Lem Hall, with bis pretty bride, was in town Saturday. The Summit school seems to be rushing the "Growler," this year. Leesville is in front ranks of pro gress and seems willing to accommo date both the living and the dead. y I noticed also, in "Our News Letter" that one of the college faculty had directed a cow's eye. Now at just what or how, or in which way, directed it, has she directed it, has ?? *- " ? ?? lt+tlo efn/lir VBUOOU UiC UU livwo dvuuj The little eon of Mr. J- J. The way Uncle Jake Williams is mashing the sngar cane seems to indicate that the people in the "Sand Dam" section will have something to sop. Messrs. Lonnie and Ollie Kyzer are on a visit to the Sand Hills. They brought their dogs with them and the way they are killing up the Black Greek coons is a, pity. The first morning they went out, they caught 61?59 and at this writing they are on another chase. In next weeks paper I'll give you the number caught and killed and chased. Klondike. Question Answered. Yes, August Flower still has the largest sale of any medicine in the civilized world. Your mothers' and grandmothers'never thought of using anything else for Indigestion or Bili 0DBD88B. JLAWtors wwe Ofoiuc, nuu they seldom heard of Appendicitis, Nervous Prostration or Heart failure, etc. They used August Flower to clean out the system and stop fer. mentation of undigested food, regulate the action of the liver, stimulate the nervous and organic action of the system, and that is all they took k when feeling dull and bad with headaches and other aches. Yon only need a few doses of Green's August Flower, in liquid form, to make you satisfied there is nothing serious the matter with you. You can get this reliable remedy at Kaufmann's Drug Store. There was nothing new to distinguish it from similar carnivals, (or what-nots) held in other towns in the State during the present month. Benson, when getting his usual Saturday night bath, stepped back sgainst a hot stove which burned him severely. The child was in great sgony and his mother could do nothing to pacify him. Remembering that she bad a bottle of Chamberlam's Pain Balm in the house, she thought she would Iry it. In less than half an hour after applying it the child whs quiet and asleep, and in less than two wflpks was well. Mrs. Benson is a well known resident cf Keliar, Ya. Another big trust has been formed in New York, and the whole country trembles as if in the threes of a Charleston earthquake over the concentration of fcbis vast amount of cap ital, aDd the liberties of the people are endangered as a consequence and calls for a congressional investigation. The milk in the cocoanut is that the capital stock of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway company has been increased to $100,000,000, and we are awfully mad because those money kings, the arch enemies of the people, who go about like "a roaring lion seeking those whom they can devour," did not think enough of as to send us down a sin gle red cent. We have been robbed of our Tights; our liberty has been curtailed; a great wrong has been perpetrated, aDd we demand a congressional investigation.
